Quezon City—Balik Kalipay Center for Psychosocial Response, Inc. (BKC) and Christian Blind Mission Global (CBMG) sign contract on January 24 for a 3-year program that aims to develop a sustainable and inclusive community-managed mental health care (ICMMHC) to improve mental health outcomes of people with psychosocial disability, their families, and the community at large by working with LGUs, OPDs, community groups, and other stakeholders. The pilot areas for the ICMMHC program are the municipalities of Juban and Pilar in Sorsogon, and Zumarraga in Samar.
The program that took place at the Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Quezon city was attended by BKC and CBMG teams. The program was highlighted by the signing of contract between CBMG Philippines and BKC which were represented, respectively, by CBMG Ph Country Director Herc Paradiang and BKC President and Chair Tita Rose Linda Bautista.
From January 25 to 27, a training on Disability Inclusion and an orientation on Disability-Inclusive Development were held. The ICMMHC program will formally start next month in Sorsogon and Samar provinces.
